Codeset Builder

The Codeset Builder is a quick entry tool enabling you to enter clinical codes directly.

1. From the Codeset Designer select your Codeset File on the left, then Add Codeset from the toolbar.

   

2. Enter the name of the Codeset.
3. Select Codeset Builder for the appropriate coding structure, for example, if you have a list of Read2 codes select the Codeset Builder for that category.

   

4. Change the Rule Type drop-down as required.
   • Hier - All codes including and below the current code in the hierarchy are used
     This is only available for CTV3 and SNOMED CT.
   • Equals - code must match exactly
   • Between - enter a range of codes, for example, H33 to H33z
   • Exclude - code to be excluded
   • Ex Range - a range of codes to be excluded

5. Enter the Code.
6. Optionally, select the appropriate boxes:
   • Chap - includes the codes from the entire chapter
     This option is only available in CTV3.
   • Pref - displays the codes within a list on your Template
   • Apply - enables the user to record the code via the Template
7. Select OK.
