Referral Message Digest Overview
Referral Message Digest (RMD) replaces the need to use problems for creating e-Referrals in Consultation Manager.
Once enabled (see Switching on Referral Message Digest), on accepting an e-Referral, the RMD automatically appears as a tab in the consultation pane in Consultation Manager. Depending on your settings, the RMD is pre-populated with patient data (See Auto Selection Options). You can also manually add free text, accompanying data from structured data areas, and accompanying documents (eg referral letter, attachments). This information is sent in the e-Referral message.
Note - Although we recommend using Referral Message Digest, you can still use problems for managing e-Referral Service referrals if you prefer.
