Interactions - Overview

Drug interaction and contraindication functionality has been an established part of Pharmacy Manager since its inception.

The interaction messages displayed to users are succinct and, where the settings indicate, they could usually be printed on a single dispensing label.

Cegedim Healthcare Solutions have updated the format of their interaction reporting, including much more detailed interaction information messages.

Consequently, printed interactions will use more than one label, so controls on the printed content have been introduced.

In summary, the interaction reporting mechanism covers the following:

• Interaction reporting

• Drug doubling

• Contra-indication reporting.

If multiple items are being dispensed to a patient on two or more terminals, interaction checking still takes place. However, if you operate a network system, interaction checking functionality will not work if, for any reason, the connection between client and server is broken.
