Encounters
Encounters are used to define and group data recorded during a consultation.
Important - A patient record is not locked when you open an Encounter, other users can access and add to the same patient record at the same time.
Please note the following:
- To add data to a patient record, you must start an Encounter. Otherwise, with the exception of Medication Management, you cannot update the patient record.
- When you start an Encounter, you must select the type of encounter you are recording, for example, Surgery consultation note, Acute visit note, Nursing home visit note.
See Adding an Encounter
for details.
- Once you have finished recording data, you must close the Encounter to synchronise with the patient record.
See Why Should I Close Encounters?
for details.
- Encounters that are left open or, closed encounters where you have not logged into Vision Anywhere with an internet for 90 days, are automatically deleted.
- If you forget your password, Vision Anywhere automatically deletes any open encounters on your device.
- Open encounters store locally to your device, they cannot be accessed if you login in elsewhere.
Note - If you switch devices, ensure you save and close all Encounters first.
From Patient Summary, select Encounters to display a list of all previous encounters, see Viewing Encounters for details.
