Overview of Patient Consent
Patients can select to have a Summary Care Record on the NHS Spine, they can select to have:
-
Allergies and medication, or
-
Allergies, medication and additional data
They can also select to not have a Summary Care Record.
The patient choice must be recorded on the patient record. All local dissent preferences are uploaded to the NHS Spine (Access Control Service - ACS) when the Consent Migration upload is run, see Consent Preference for SCR for details.
For patients without any consent preference, implied consent is assumed and medication and allergy data is uploaded.
