The Minor Illness/Clinical Pathways service allows you to record that you provided clinical advice, supplied medication or referred a patient for further treatment for a range of minor illnesses in Pharmacy Services.

Processing a Minor Illness/Clinical Pathways Referral

To process a Minor Illness/Clinical Pathways Referral:

  1. From the Pharmacy First Referrals list, select DETAILS :

    Note - Selecting DETAILS acknowledges your receipt of the referral and records the date and time for reporting and auditing purposes.

  2. The Referral Details screen displays the Patient Details and Clinical Summary sections:

    Complete the Referral Actions as required:

    • START CONSULTATION - Select to start the consultation and display the Consent section.

    • UNABLE TO COMPLETE - Select if you are unable to complete the referral. The Unable to complete referral screen displays, select a reason from the available list and select CONFIRM to save:

      Training Tip - Pharmacy First Referrals that you record as unable to complete are closed. These can be viewed from the Pharmacy First Referrals Completed screen. See Viewing Closed Pharmacy First Referrals for details.

  3. Complete the Minor Illness/Clinical Pathways referral.
