Order sets - explanation

What is an order set?

A supplier Order set is a named set of ordering details for a particular supplier. It includes settings for how and when you would place orders with them.

You create an Order Set for a supplier (manufacturer or wholesaler) account.

In an order set you would define the following:

  • The supplier's company name

  • The default order code

  • The account number

  • Default dialling location

  • PDT/FAX number(s)

  • Default order code

You could even have two order sets against one supplier, e.g. "AAH Daily" and "AAH Weekly". Both use the same details (from the supplier inquiry), but you would give each order set a different name.

Order sets are normally set up for you when your system is installed.

How would you use an order set?

When you place a product on order, you assign it to an order set.

For example, you might order Ventolin Inhalers using the AAH DAILY order set, but order Gaviscon Liquid using AAH WEEKLY.
