Mail Manager and EPS

EPS R2 messages are sent and received via Mail Manager . There are two types of EPS R2 outgoing messages:

  • Parent Prescription Messages - These contain prescription details and cancellation requests.
  • PDS General Update Messages - These contain nomination details.

You have the option to hide successful messages, improving performance and decluttering your screen:

  1. From Mail Manager, select Tools - Options - Message.
  2. Untick Show Sent Electronic Prescriptions, this ensures only unsuccessful and error messages display.
  3. Select OK to save and close.

You should check Mail Manager daily for rejected EPS messages and report rejections to the Vision helpline at a regular interval, for example, weekly or fortnightly, depending upon how many you are getting.

Nomination Messages

Nomination details are sent as a PDS General Update message as these details are stored on the Spine and not locally in Vision. As with all PDS update messages, they should be monitored for Transmission Errors.
