Pregnancy Start

  • Either from the Pregnancy Start tab of the Maternity Care Summary Form,
  • or from Pregnancy Details on the Maternity Management Plan

Click on Skip To if you have no entry to make in a screen; this will then present the next screen.

  • Parity Status - The default READ term is 152..00 Parity status. Enter the Number of Births and Number of Miscarriages which are displayed as Pn + x, eg P1 + 2 = 1 birth and 2 miscarriages. Click OK.
  • Blood Group - The default in Blood Group is <None>, but choose from A, A+, A-, B, B+, B-, O, O+, O-, AB, AB+, AB-, Rhesus +, Rhesus -.
  • Pregnancy Dates - Enter the LMP in LMP Date (eg enter 06/09/97 for 6th September 1997). The estimated date of delivery (EDD) will either be calculated automatically from the LMP, or you can enter it as an abbreviation such as 20W (twenty weeks), and the date will be calculated.

    The default READ term is 1513. 00 Last menstrual period - 1st day. In Certainty, choose from <None>, Sure, Unsure (use best guess LMP date), Very unsure (use best guess LMP date).

  • Ante-Natal Risk Factors - The default READ term is 623.. 00 A/N care: obstetric risk, but you can either click and select further options, such as 6235. 00A/N Care: H/O perinatal death, or enter your own free text notes in the Notes window.
  • Ante-Natal Social Factors - The default READ term is 625.. 00 A/N care: social risk, but you can select other options, such as A/N care: H/O child abuse.
  • Ante-Natal Booking - In READ term, select an option to describe the booking place, eg G.P. unit delivery booking. Enter a number in Weeks Gestation. In Type of Booking, choose <None>, Hospital, Home Delivery, GP Unit.
  • Maternity Care Plan - Select the Consultant, Hospital and Midwife from the list (previously entered in File Maintenance - Organisations / Departments / Staff, and in Staff.
