Asthma Management Plan

The Asthma Management Plan and Asthma Summary Form group together all the likely entries needed for managing an asthmatic patient. The entries are more detailed on the Asthma Management Plan which is system-distributed guideline, some parts of which are displayed in grid format, a column for each consultation.

To display the Asthma Management form:

  • From the navigation pane on the Patient Record, click on the Asthma line with the right mouse, and select Management Plan.
  • You can also list existing asthma entries under the Filtered tab of the Patient Record by clicking with the left mouse on the Asthma line on the Navigation pane.

Note - The Asthma (and Diabetes) Management Plans are distributed by Vision 3. We strongly advise that if you want to make any alterations to either of these Management Plans, you should make a copy in Select Guidelines and use your copy version. Where users had previously amended the distributed guidelines causes problems when an update is distributed via a DLM and overwrites a practice's version. For this reason the distributed guidelines are protected.

The Asthma Management Plan is a guideline with embedded Data Grids data entries as well as other data entry buttons. On the grids, there is a row for each entry, and each column represents a different date. It contains the most comprehensive record of asthma data entries and has been authored with the new GMS contract in mind.

On the grids, rows where there is no data are hidden by default. To display the whole grid, click on the two left cell.

To add a new entry, click on the far right cell of the row title you want. This displays an -Add screen. As you complete and click OK for each screen, the next screen is automatically displayed. Skip a screen by clicking on Next. A green tick means there is already an entry at this prompt; a red cross means no entry yet. For a screen where you have no entry, you can also use Cancel.

Click on a blue heading to expand or collapse that section.
