Editing and Deleting Acute Therapy
Unprinted acute therapy can be edited or deleted, simply right click on the item and select Edit or Delete as required.
If an acute prescription has been printed, you can only edit the:
- Batch Number
- Notes
To edit these details:
- Right click on the acute line and select Edit.
- The following warning displays, 'It is not possible to edit a prescription that has been printed. You can delete the prescription and then add a new one.', select Yes to continue.
To delete printed acute therapy if required:
- Right click on the acute line and select Delete.
- The following warning displays, 'This prescription has been printed. Are you sure you wish to delete it?', select Yes to continue.
- Enter a reason for the deletion in free text in the Event log and then select OK.
The deleted item displays on the Audit Trail, but no longer displays on the patient record.
This provides a solution if, for example, you have entered a prescription on the wrong patient's screen.
If there has been a drug dictionary change since the medication was entered, you may see the following message, 'It is not possible to edit this item, [drug name, form, strength] is no longer a supported drug. Please delete this item and add a new one if you wish to make changes.'
Add the item correctly and then delete the original.
