Creating Local Guideline Indexes

A Local Guideline Index is a Guideline built of embedded Guidelines. It is designed in exactly the same way as any other Guideline.

Creating your Local Index

Your Local Guideline Index should include all of your local Guidelines so you can select them from within a patient record quickly and easily.

To maintain your Local Guideline Index:

  1. From Consultation Manager, select Guidelines - Select Guideline.
  2. The Select Guideline by Mnemonic displays, in Mnemonic, enter 'U_INDEX' and press Enter on your keyboard.
  3. The U_INDEX: Local Guideline Index displays, highlight it and select View.
  4. Select Maintain . The top line is framed, to show it is selected, anything you add is inserted on the next line.
  5. From the floating toolbar, select Embed a Guideline and the Select Guideline by Mnemonic screen displays.
  6. Ensuring the ticks are removed from Centrally issued and Reports, enter the mnemonic of the Guideline you want to include on the index and press Enter on your keyboard.
  7. Highlight the Guideline required and select OK.
  8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 until you have built up your Guideline list.
    Training Tip - Do not include any of the Management Plans with mnemonics starting with @, these are better accessed from the Navigation Pane.
    Remember - You can change the order of the list by dragging and dropping the Guidelines.
    Note - If you want to categorise your local guidelines, add suitable sub-heading lines followed by the embedded guideline. For example, Data Entry, Disease Management, Nursing, Drugs, Administration.
  9. Finally, select Save and exit

To check your new entries are where you expected, select Local Guidelines .

Creating your Local Reports Index

Your Local Reports Index should include all of your local Report Guidelines so you can select them from within a patient record quickly and easily.

To maintain your Local Reports Index:

  1. From Consultation Manager, select Guidelines - Select Guidelines.

  2. The Select Guideline by Mnemonic displays, in Mnemonic, enter 'U_Reports' and press Enter on your keyboard.

  3. The U_REPORT: Local Report Index displays, highlight it and select View.
  4. Select Maintain . The top line is framed, to show it is selected, anything you add is inserted on the next line.
  5. From the floating toolbar, select Embed a Guideline and the Select Guideline by Mnemonic screen displays.

  6. From the Select Guideline screen, enter part of or the whole of a local report name, or untick Locally Generated and Centrally Issued and press Enter on your keyboard.
  7. Highlight the report to add and select OK.
  8. Repeat steps 5 - 7 until you have added the reports required.
  9. Select Save .
  10. Select Close .

To check your new entries are where you expected, select Local Reports Index .
