Record an Acute Prescription Without Printing It

Prescriptions issued outside of Vision 3 for example, those hand written during a home visit, should be added to Vision 3 to ensure a complete patient record and accurate drug checks.

To add an acute prescription for reference only:

  1. From the Acute Therapy - Add screen, complete the medication details in the usual way.

  2. Remove the tick in Print Script .

  3. Continue in the usual way.

Any prescriptions not printed within 48 hours of issuing is deleted from the print queue.

Note - The prescription itself remains in the patient records and is notdeleted.

When a patient is de-selected, if there are any unprinted prescriptions, the Unprinted Therapy Warning screen displays:

Select from:

  • Print Items and Continue

  • Continue Without Printing

  • View Items

  • Cancel

If you select Continue Without Printing, the unprinted prescriptions is de-selected from the print queue after 24 hours and deleted after 48 hours.
