Diagnosis of Thyroid
You can make an entry for thyroid disease from either History-Add, or from Read Term Add using one of the following Read codes, or entering #C0 Disorders of thyroid gland as a starting point:
- #C02 Thyroidtoxicosis
- #C03 Congenital hypothyroidism
- #C04 Acquired hypothyroidism
Entry of any C0 code always leads to Medical History.
The previous Thyroid Disease Register and Thyroid Disease Add screens became redundant in DLM 186 and records have been placed in Superseded Records at the bottom of the navigation pane list, should you wish to view or edit them.
With DLM 186, existing thyroid entries are converted to Medical History entries if the Thyroid Disease Present box was ticked on the original Thyroid Disease Add form. If the Thyroid Disease Present box was cleared of its tick (i.e. the patient did not have thyroid disease), then the record was converted to Absence of Condition.
Should you want a list of thyroid patients for a virtual register, then you are advised to use Populate Problems with C03 and C04 as the Read code

For screening or review entries of your thyroid patients, in Read Term Add enter #6871 for 6871 Thyroid disease screen. Click OK to go to the Thyroid Disease Screening SDA.
