PDS Registration Links Amendments

All changes to demographic data via the Update Vision option on the Personal Demographics Service (PDS) mismatch screen automatically generate a Registration Links amendment message (AMS message). These messages are sent to the NHAIS system along with any other amendments. You can monitor these outgoing amendments from Registration Links - Transaction Management - Daily Transactions.

As part of the PDS update process, only those items that have changed are transmitted to the PDS. Unchanged items are not transmitted.

• If any elements of the address are changed, then the new address, in its entirety, is transmitted to the PDS.
• The NHS Number is used as the key within PDS. Any local updates to the NHS Number break the link between the local record and the PDSrecord. Any updates which include a change to the NHS Number are not, therefore, transmitted to the PDS. These changes must be resolved through the legacy Registration Links process.
