Deleting, Amending or Cancelling CMS (Serial Prescribing) Items

Occasionally an item is cancelled or amended after it has been dispensed. In this scenario the pharmacy has already requested and retrieved the prescription message from the message store. They are unable to receive any amendments or cancellations made at a later stage as this type of information is only delivered to a pharmacy when the original message was requested and downloaded.

It is therefore extremely important that you inform the pharmacy, for example, by phone, of any amendments or cancellations and issue a new prescription for the patient.
