The Dyspnoea, Obstruction, Smoking Exacerbation (DOSE) Index

The Dyspnoea, Obstruction, Smoking, Exacerbation (DOSE) index is designed to assess disease severity and for the clinical management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

To complete the DOSE Index

  1. From the Encounter screen select Templates & Calculators .
    The Templates & Calculators view displays.
  2. From the list select DOSE Index and the calculator displays and automatically displays the Calculated Dose Index:

  1. Select :
    • Add to record a new entry.
    • List to view historical entries.
    • Graph to view trends, select Close to exit the Graph
  2. To save the calculated DOSE Index score to the patient record, select Save, or
    to exit without saving select Cancel.
Note - Undo All removes any changes you have made.
  1. If you select Save, the Encounter screen updates with the DOSE Index score.
