Prescribing Preferences

Set your warnings for drug doubling, interactions, contraindications and precautions here.

  1. From your Vision Anywhere Home screen, select Settings - Prescribing Preferences:

  2. Select the setting to update and then select from the available list:

The options for each section are detailed below:

  • Drug Doubling - Notifies you if the item you are prescribing doubles with the patient's other medication by:

    • Same ingredient (default)
    • Same drug family
    • Hide all warnings
  • Drug to Drug Interactions:
    • Show all warnings - Displays severe, major and minor interactions.
    • Severe and major (default) - Displays severe and major interactions.
    • Severe only - Displays life-threatening interactions only.
  • Contraindications:
    • Patient specific only (default) - Only shows warnings that are triggered by specific clinical entries in the patient record.
    • Show all warnings - Shows all warnings regardless of whether the patient has record of condition or not.
    • Hide all warnings
  • Precautions:
    • Patient specific only (default) - Only shows warnings that are triggered by specific clinical entries in the patient record.
    • Show all warnings - Shows all warnings regardless of whether the patient has record of condition or not.
    • Hide all warnings
  • Prescriber Warnings - Select On or Off.

Please Note:

  • If you are using Vision Anywhere in a shared care setting, repeat prescribing functionality is not available for EMIS registered patients.
  • Prescriber warnings are not available for EMIS patients or when offline.
  • Prescriber preferences are set by individual users.
