Administration Times and Dose Codes
What are Administration Times and Dose Codes?
-
Dose Codes are the directions used when dispensing medication, for example, 1M for 1 to be taken in the morning. This has been configured here to display in the Morning slot of a patient's MAR chart.
-
Admin Times are the time slots that display on a patient's MAR chart, for example, morning, noon, tea and bed.
For Pharmacy Manager to correctly print MAR and labels/cassette sheets, you must set up administration times and dose codes. These should be set up before doing any MDS /nursing home prescriptions.
Administration times and dose codes can be changed globally, applying those settings to any new home or community patient created in Pharmacy Manager. See Global Administration Times and Dose Codes.
Alternatively, administration times and dose codes can be changed on a local level for a specific Home or Community Patient, for example, if a home manages their rounds differently. See Local Administration Times and Dose Codes.
