How do I Set the Private Prescription Fee (3:19)
The Charging tab displays the default charges to apply to both NHS and Private Prescriptions:
From Pharmacy Manager, select Tools - System Settings - Pharmacy Details - Charging:
- Base charge - Select the base price of the product:
- Tariff price,
- Retail price, or
- Trade price.
To add the following additional charges, highlight the type and select Edit, update Value, tick Apply automatically, if required and select OK:
- Dispensing
- Container
- Extra controlled drug
- Extra extemporaneous
- Calculate cost to patient - Select from the following if required:
- Adding a mark-up:
- Minimum charge - If required, enter a minimum charge.
- Mark-up(%) - If required, set a percentage to mark-up.
- Using banding - Select to apply user defined banding and select Define.
The Cost Banding screen displays
- Script Price enter the script price, items up to this value.
- Patient Charge enter the price the patient pays.
Select OK to save.

The following display in Other Charges, these are for information only as they are maintained by Cegedim. If updates to these values are required, they are released as part of updates released in a timely manner

- VAT Rates
Select Apply to save any changes before moving onto another tab.
