About dispensing Robots
Rowa Speedcase
Pharmacy Manager can connect to a Rowa Speedcase dispensing robot - an automated storage and retrieval system for pharmacy packs.
ARX, the robot manufacturer, says the benefits of this system include a reduction in errors, increased space efficiency, a dramatic increase in business efficiency and increased speed of delivery.
The Rowa Speedcase has been proven to dramatically improve the working environment for staff, as well as saving money for the pharmacy and greatly improving the speed, accuracy and efficiency of service.
RoboPharma
Pharmacy Manager can also connect to the RoboPharma robot. RoboPharma is another automated storage and retrieval system for pharmacy packs.
As well as the dispensing robot, RoboPharma supply an additional labelling system that can be used independently or in conjunction with the dispensing robot.
The RoboLabel concept simultaneously checks the package barcode against the prescription and applies the correct label – giving you absolute confidence that the right label appears on the right package, and confirmed against the right prescription.
Tecny-Farma
Tecny-Farma is another automated storage and retrieval system for pharmacy packs which can connect to Pharmacy Manager.
Founded in 1982, Tecny-Farma are the leading Spanish company for the design and manufacture of furniture and storage solutions for the pharmaceutical sector.
Tecny-Farma systems cover the whole product range for pharmacy, managing high, medium and slower-moving pharmacy packs.
Tecny-Farma products aim to improve the general management of the pharmacy through better stock control, space efficiency and increased turn-over. Furthermore, modularity allows offering a personalised solution for every pharmacy.
Willach Consis
Willach have produced a range of dispensing robots. One of the range, the Consis B, is an automated stocking channel system for fast and medium moving items, dispensing and stocking of 1,410 items / 16,200 packages.
This development will link Pharmacy Manager to the Consis range.
Impact on Pharmacy Manager
There are similarities in how each dispensing robot interacts within Pharmacy Manager. Consequently, much of the guidance is common to each robot. It is only where there are differences that this helpfile refers to the specific brand of robot e.g. Robot setup.
Each robot features a small amount of unique additional functionality. In order not to distract or confuse those users with other robots, there are sub-sections that will explain these separate features.
Robot Interfaces
Each robot is controlled by its own software. It is this software - typically on another PC - that is networked to the Pharmacy Manager server.
Cegedim Rx have no control over the design, appearance or operation of this software - other than providing the supplier with any technical details about Pharmacy Manager that they require.
Consequently, any software support for the robot interface must be sought from the supplier of the robot.
