Ivabradine Interaction Safety
Cegedim Healthcare Solutions are aware of an incident in relation to the sudden cardiac death of a patient as a result of Amitriptyline toxicity likely caused by an interaction between Amitriptyline, Paroxetine and Ivabradine that were co-administered to the patient. The combination of this trio of drugs did not trigger an alert on the prescribing software used in primary care or by pharmacists.
The Ivabradine Interaction Safety pathway is provided to assist in case-finding of any patients co-prescribed Amitriptyline, Paroxetine and Ivabradine so that a clinical review can be undertaken.
