CHADS2 - AF Stroke Risk Calculator

The CHADS2 - AF Stroke Risk Calculator is a method of calculating stroke risk in patients with Atrial Fibrillation. The patient is allocated points based on their previous medical history in the following areas:

  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Hypertension
  • Age
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Strokes or TIA

The CHADS2 risk score is calculated using the following data:

  1. From Consultation Manager, select Vision+ from the floating toolbar and select Calculators - Cardiovascular - CHADS2:

  3. Complete as required, and record the score by selecting OK or select OK & Attach to record the score and questionnaire to the patient's record:

  4.  The appropriate clinical term saves to the patient's record:

  5. To view an attachment, from patient's record, right click on the attachment entry and select View Attachment. The attachment displays as a PDF:
