AUDIT Calculator

The AUDIT Calculator screens for active alcohol abuse or dependence.

• A score of 8 or more is associated with harmful or hazardous drinking

• A score of13 of more in women and 15 or more in men is likely to indicate alcohol dependence.

Accessing the AUDIT Calculator

1. From Consultation Manager, select Vision+ from the floating toolbar and select Calculators - Lifestyle - AUDIT.

   

2. The AUDIT Calculator displays:

   

3. Work through the questions with the patient by clicking on the relevant answers.
4. On completion of Page 1 select Page 2:

   

5. When all the questions have been answered the calculated score is supplied in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
6. Select the Clinical term to be entered into the patients record from the clinical term drop-down menu (the calculated score is added onto the clinical term selected).
7. Enter the Event Date or select from a calendar.
8. If you want to add a priority, select it from the Priority list.
9. Select OK to record the data or OK and Attach to also record the questionnaire.

   

10.  The appropriate clinical term saves to the patient's record:

    

11. To view an attachment, from patient's record, right click on the attachment entry and select View Attachment. The attachment displays as a PDF:
