Electronic Repeat Dispensing
Repeat dispensing allows you to authorise several issues of a prescription at once. This means that the patient does not have to return to your practice each time to collect another prescription issue and instead goes direct to the pharmacy.
In the initial stages of EPSR2, electronic Repeat Dispensing is only available to patients who decide to use a nominated dispensing contractor. Batch issues from the Repeat Dispensed items are not printed; however a token is always printed.
If the patient changes their nomination part way through a repeat dispensing cycle, all outstanding prescription issues are transferred to the new nominated dispensing contractor automatically.
