Key Discrepancies
A Key discrepancy is where there is a mismatch between the PDS and locally held data in one or more of the following areas:
- Date of birth.
- Gender.
A key discrepancy suggests that a record has become confused with another patient record nationally and needs to be resolved by the PDS National Back Office. Please contact your local NHAIS Agency to have the record investigated as it could mean the same number is in use for a different patient elsewhere in the country.
If a record is accessed where a key discrepancy exists the Please resolve the PDS/Vision mismatches screen displays.
Once the record has been investigated nationally and/or the correct details have been provided then you may choose to update the PDS with the information stored locally, the following screen displayed:
Select:
- Yes to confirm the changes have been verified and the PDS needs updating.
- No to decouple the record pending investigation, PDS updates are no longer sent
- Cancel to return to the Please resolve the PDS/Vision mismatch screen.
