NHS 111 Messaging (England)

As patients are being encouraged to call 111 instead of their practice in England, Vision 3 can receive NHS 111 messages into Mail Manager. The message contains a report informing the practice that the patient has contacted 111, detailing:

  • What the call was about
  • Any follow-up action necessary as discussed with the patient, for example, make an appointment for the patient

Messages can be set to automatically file to the patient record or can be processed using the same protocols used when dealing with Out of Hours messages and Discharge summaries. Once filed, messages can be viewed in the patient record and are allocated to the patient's registered GP.

Note - The option to file with the date received rather than the date of encounter is not available for NHS 111 messages.
