Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Exclusions

The following items are outside the scope of Chronic Medication Service (CMS):

Medication	Types of Prescribing
Medication excluded from CMS (Serial Prescribing) includes: Non-FP10 drugs Discontinued drugs Oxygen Handwritten drugs Schedule 1, 2, 3 and 4 Controlled drugs Cytotoxics Patients See CMS (Serial Prescribing) Registration and Patient Status	The following prescribing types cannot be executed as part of CMS (Serial Prescribing): Bulk prescribing Prescription forms other than GP10 Private Prescriptions NHS24 Prescribing Out of Hours Prescribing Dispensing by dispensing doctors (however, dispensing doctors require the ability to prescribe using CMS (Serial Prescribing) functionality).

The following prescribers are not able to produce an CMS (Serial Prescribing) prescription: Nurse Prescribers Supplementary Prescribers Dentists Hospital Consultants Opticians Optometrists	Other prescribing exclusions include: Private prescription Personally administered Dispensed Source of drug is other than In Practice Prescribing date is in the past The print box is unchecked
