EPS Prescription Tokens
Paper copies of electronic prescriptions are called ‘tokens’. They act as a hard copy of the details contained within the electronic prescription.
There are two types of token, both print on FP10s:
- Prescription Tokens - Produced by the practice.
- Dispensing tokens - Produced by the pharmacy.
For EPS 2, a prescription token must accompany an electronic prescription:
- At the start of a repeat dispensing cycle.
- Where clinical information needs to be communicated to the patient.
- At a patient’s request.
- If the prescriber deems it necessary to do so:
The Nominated Pharmacy and the Prescription ID prints on the right hand-side of the script along with any other repeat reorder information set-up in Consultation Manager.
See Adding and Updating EPS Nominated Dispensers and Repeat Therapy Reorder Form for details.
Note - To print this topic select Print
