Discontinued items in MDS

When dispensing items that a patient has had previously, you may see the discontinued icon, for example, when an item is no longer manufactured.

 

 

You will have the opportunity to edit the medication. For details, see View or edit patient's prescriptions.

If you click the Dispense button and the discontinued item cannot be dispensed (an item created in error has previously been chosen), the following alert appears:

 

 

It will not be possible to continue with the dispense. In order to proceed you will have to edit the item and select an alternative version that is not discontinued.
