Dispensing part packs

The ARX Rowa robot has the capability of storing and issuing part filled packs. For example, a 28 tablet pack containing two fourteen tablet blisters may have one blister already dispensed. Instead of the remaining blister being held as "shelf stock", it can be reloaded into the robot as a part pack of 14.

To enable part pack dispensing to function, settings need to be activated in both Pharmacy Manager and the Rowa Interface.

See Enabling Rowa part pack dispensing for more details.

Rowa intelligently dispenses part packs when issuing stock for quantities other than exact full packs.

With part pack functionality enabled, you should also be aware of the fact the required item might be delivered with an 'oversupply'. For example, when 28 doses  are required and the robot delivers a part pack of 14 doses and a part pack of 21 - the remaining 7 will be automatically added back to the shelf stock.

1. The part pack is ignored because there is a full pack

2. The robot part pack is selected to avoid over supply in favour of the shelf stock.

3. If full packs are selected and the oversupply is automatically transferred to be shelf stock. This can then be transferred back to the robot as a part pack.

4. If aggressive part pack elimination was operating, the three parts packs of seven would be used in favour of 14 + 7.

5. The robot part packs are selected in favour of the shelf stock. The oversupply of 10 is transferred to shelf stock.

6. No full packs are available, so both part packs are issued. The oversupply of 7 is transferred to shelf stock.
