Custom bag labels

Subject to certain requirements, you can customise the appearance of some elements of the bag label.

Ensure the option is selected to print bag labels

  • Click Tools > Printer configuration > Pharmacy Manager

  • Highlight (click once) your label printer and click theDetailsbutton.

  • Ensure that Print using windows printer driveris checked which will enable theFormat labelbutton.

  • Click theFormat labelbutton.

  • On theLabel Designerscreen, click theBag labeltab.

  • Check Custom bag label styleto activate the default design. This will enable buttons for the components of the bag label that can be customised.

Effectively, this means you can select the type style and font size of each component - the patient name, the patient address or the date & details.

The default type style/font is Lucida Console 8pt.

The font size has a limited range - from 5pt to 14pt - in order to ensure the size is not too tall for a line.

  • Click the drop down arrow adjacent to the current font and scroll to select your new choice e.g.Verdana

  • Click the down arrow adjacent to the current pitch and scroll to select your new choice e.g.10pt

The mock up of the label changes to reflect your choice and may indicate that everything may not fit on the label satisfactorily.

Where possible Pharmacy Manager will reduce the font size to ensure that necessary detail fits on the label.

Repeat the process as required for each component - the patient name, the patient address or the date & details.

  • Check Display number of items and script typeto displayNHSorPrivateandthe item count on the label.

The Delivery service required indicator provides at-a-glance identification of bag labels on awaiting prescriptions that are scheduled for a previously agreed home delivery (and those that are not). This setting is activated through the Repeat Rx tab.

  • Click the OK button to close and exit, saving your current settings.

If you have elected to print barcodes on bag labels, you will not be able to further customise the bag label , for example, change the text fonts.
