Welcome to the Formulary Management Tool (FMT)

The Formulary Management Tool (FMT) application enables you to create and maintain either single or multiple formularies for use within a prescribing system.

The Formulary Management Tool provides the following functionality:

• Formularies are stored in a central database rather than locally.
• Changes are versioned and published to use as required.
• You can output XML format files, allowing easy integration into systems where formularies are required.

A formulary within FMT contains items from the Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (DM+D). Each item in the formulary can have the following options set:

• Default prescribed quantities
• Default dosages
• Non-overlapping age ranges
• Gender

FMT also includes the option to create Tags for products, these can be used to:

• Link a product to a treatment pathway

• Identify first, second and/or third line of treatment

• Define an age range

• Specify gender
