Workstation Locking/Unlocking

You can lock your workstation when you are logged into Vision 3 with your Smartcard. This is done by either removing your Smartcard from the reader or leaving your workstation inactive:

Simply removing your Smartcard from the reader without logging out of Vision 3 locks the Vision 3 modules you are running until you unlock the workstation.

The Vision 3 screensaver works with Single Sign On (SSO) login, this means that depending on your settings in Control Panel - Security, your workstation locks after a period of mouse or keyboard inactivity.

Note - If disable your Vision 3 screensaver or timeout setting in Control Panel - Security, your workstation locks after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is a setting on the Spine Security Broker (SSB) and cannot be changed in Vision 3.

When your workstation locks and you move your mouse or type on your keyboard, the Unlock Session screen displays. To unlock the session, either:

  • Re-enter your Smartcard passcode, or
  • Select End Session to close Vision 3, you are warned that any unsaved work is lost.
