Overview of Patient Consent
Patients can opt to have a Summary Care Record on the NHS Spine (they can choose to have just allergies and medication or allergies, medication and additional data), or can chose not to have an SCR. This must be recorded on the patient record (see Recording SCR Consent Preference). All local dissent preferences are uploaded to the NHS Spine (Access Control Service - ACS) when the Consent Migration upload is run.
For patients without any consent preference, implied consent is assumed and medication and allergies are uploaded.
