External Applications

The External Applications icon can be used to trigger an external application, such as Notepad, Word or Excel. as well as any file (ie saved Word File) or web page.

1. With a guideline in design mode, click on the External Applications icon on the floating toolbar.
2. At the Program Item Properties screen, click on Browse.
3. From Files of Type you can select All Files, Programs or Documents.
4. Next browse for the required file and click Open.
5. You can enter a description if required which displays as the icon’s caption or leave black for the file/program name to populate as the caption.
   • Display as icon - Decide whether to display as an icon If you uncheck this box, then the button will bear the entry in Description.
   • Enter Web Address - alternatively, you can select Enter Web Address to trigger a web page rather than a program or file. Your default browser icon is used.
6. Click OK.

   

7. You may change the bitmap if you wish by selecting the line in design mode, clicking with the right mouse and selecting Edit.
