Tidy up the Register
- First you need to find the group of patients on a register, for example, the Asthma register.
- Either use a Clinical Audit group and make it into a user group in Patient Groups (click on audit line, click on blue blob, Save as new name).
- Or from Search and Reports, do a search for Add Entity - All other clinical data - Asthma Data - Asthma register and save the Group Output.
- Second, using that group as a Search Input, you exclude patients who have a Removed From Register date.
- In Search Input, double click and select the Asthma Register group created above.
- In Search Details, highlight Patient Details, Selections, Registration Status, and select Permanent and Applied for registered patients.
- In Search Details, select Add Entity - All other clinical data - Asthma Data - Asthma register. Highlight the Asthma register line and click Selections. Highlight Removed from register and click Add New. Type T-20y in From and click on After (after today's date minus twenty years, in other words, within the last twenty years). Click OK. Now click to highlight the new line Removed from register under Search Details, and right click, selecting Options, then Exclude.
- Group Output - double click and name the group with the same name as in the Group Input, with a description "Asthma Register excluding those removed".
- Report Output - for example, Standard Report.
- Select Run. If you want to print the list out, from the Print Preview display, select Print.
- Save the search before you close the Ad Hoc screen so that you can use it again next month, to get a further definitive Asthma Register group.
You can also do a further search of these patients and exclude those who do not have the main Read code associated with the disease, so, for example, a list of Asthma Register patients who do not have an H33 Read code entry.
