Activating Chronic Medication Service (CMS)
Chronic Medication Service (CMS) needs to be switched on and you are advised how to do this. You must also have advanced printing enabled. If you are using Acute Medication Service (AMS) you should already have advanced printing enabled. The following steps are required:
- Before going live with CMS prescribing, it is recommended that you generate a test prescription message, see Mail Manager Help Centre for further details.
- When a registration message is received, Vision 3 checks to see if the pharmacy code contained in the message matches an existing pharmacy code in Vision 3. If a matching pharmacy is not found, or you have a pharmacy organisation listed without the pharmacy code, Vision 3 creates a new Pharmacy. This means that you could have duplicate pharmacies created in Control Panel. It is therefore advisable that you add pharmacy codes to all existing pharmacies in Vision 3 before CMS is enabled.
See Adding Pharmacy Codes for further details.
