Summary/Grid Tab
The Summary/Grid tab requires a navigation pane. It is "filterable" which means that if you right click on a navigation pane line, such as Examination Findings, there is an extra option of Summary, as well as Data Grid. (Filterable is an option which can be checked on the Data View Options - Summary View Properties - see Summary View Properties).
Note - The reverse is true as well. If you do not have a Summary/Grid tab on your Patient Record view, when you right click on a line on the navigation pane, you will in most cases only see a Management Plan option, and no Summary or Data Grid option.
Selecting Summary displays a Summary list by category of the entries. The latest record is shown in each category and on a Vision 3 Patient Record view you can expand a category by clicking on +.
From any displayed Add screen in the bottom pane of the Prevention tab, you can also click on the selection arrow to the left of the Skip To button at the bottom right. Scroll up and down to find the category you want, then click on Skip To. The relevant Add screen displays. You can also use the Previous or Next buttons to the left of the window. For instance, if the Drug Allergy and Intolerance Add form displays, click on Next repeatedly until you reach the form you want.
Selecting Data Grid shows the same data in grid format.
The Data Grid format is very similar to a management plan, and works in the same way. The differences are that a Data Grid format:
- is shown under the Summary/Grid tab,
- has no "Management Plan" toolbar to navigate back to guideline index, print etc.
- can switch to the Summary format and vice versa using the icons
On both Summary or Data Grid, a data entry screen is shown in the bottom pane, which can be hidden or displayed by pressing either Esc on your keyboard or +.
The other feature is a long window, situated directly beneath the tabs, from which you can select many other categories. Best to hide the data entry form first by pressing Cancel, then left click once anywhere within this long window. This is a quick way to move to another data display. The list of categories you can choose to display is varied.
If you select Clinical Categories from this list, you can display ALL the clinical categories on one form or grid.
