Recall for cervical cytology

Note - Only record a recall once you have a smear result. There is no need to create a recall if you are just entering an initial "Smear Taken" record.

Click on the Recall icon . On the Recall-Add screen, you have to at least enter a Date for recall:

  1. Set Up Date - This date is copied from the Date Smear Reportedon the front Cytology-Add screen, and defaults to today's date if the original record. If editing a previous cytology record, change the setup date to today by typing T and pressing the tab key.
  2. Clinician Setting Recall: From the front Cytology Add screen.
  3. READ Term for Recall Trigger will be picked up from the READ Term for Result from the front Cytology-Add screen.
  4. Recall Date - This is the recall interval time period required. Enter a recall using the abbreviated date format, such as 3M, 1Y, 3Y, or 5Y for three months, one year, three years, or five years respectively.
  5. Clinician to Action Recall: Defaults to the same GP as in Clinician Setting Recall, but you have the opportunity to select another GP if required.
  6. READ Term for Recall Reason - If you want to make use of the Cervical Cytology Recall Search in the Search/Reports module, and the recall letters (generated from the Patient Groups and Recall module), you need to enter certain READ codes when doing Cervical Cytology-Add, this should be one of the following codes (all their lower level codes will be included as well, eg 4K21, 4K22 etc):
    • 4K2. Cervical smear result
    • 4KA.. Vaginal vault smear result
    • 685.. Cervical neoplasia/cytology screen
    • 4K4.. Cervical smear - action needed
    • 9O8.. Cervical smear screen admin - (note - this is O not zero) -
    • K55.. Non-inflammatory cervical disorders
    • B831. Carcinoma in situ of cervix uteri
