Patient Advice

Guidelines will print out either a prescription or a piece of patient advice, but not both. For example, if a patient presents with the common complaint of "I can't sleep", there may be a list of things the patient can do or avoid in order to help them sleep.

Text for this is stored in the guideline under the line category of Advice for Patient.

You can create your own patient leaflets, store them on a folder and reference them from within guidelines.

  1. Use the Patient Advice icon which automatically includes both a sub-heading line, and a text line.
  2. How to insert a text line, type in free text or import, and subsequently print it out is explained in Text.

The main difference between this and other text lines is that whenever this is printed, an entry of Advice Given is made on the patient's record (eg seen on the Journal or History tab), with the speak-bubble icon.

To print out advice for a patient during a consultation, double click on a patient advice line, and at the Edit Text to be Printed screen, optionally add your own free text as either a Prefix or Suffix, then click OK to print.
