Spirometry Calculator

The Spirometry Calculator is standard test used to measure a patient's lung function. It can be used to diagnose the following conditions:

  • COPD.

  • Asthma.

  • Restrictive lung disease.

  • Other disorders affecting lung function.

Accessing the Spirometry Calculator

  1. From Consultation Manager, select Vision+ from the floating toolbar and select Calculators - Respiratory - Spirometry.

  2. The Spirometry Calculator displays:

  3. Choose the Source of the calculation and complete the relevant boxes.

  4. The following age restrictions apply:

    Source Age from... Age to...
    ECCS 1993 Greater than or equal to 18 Less than 70
    Hankinson 1999 Greater than or equal to 11 Less than or equal to 90
    Knudson 1976 Greater than or equal to 11 Less than or equal to 90
  5. Select OK to save the result to the patient's record or OK & Attach to also save the calculator.
  6. The appropriate clinical term saves to the patient's record.
