Pregnancy Warnings

The Drug Check facility recognises that a patient is pregnant if one of the following two conditions is met:

  1. If one of the following Read codes and any of the sub-codes is entered on the patient’s record through Medical History within the last year, which is NOT followed by a Pregnancy Outcome entry.
    • 62% Patient Pregnant
    • L% Complications of pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium
    • 27% Obstetric examination
  2. If the Read code 62% Patient Pregnant is entered on a Maternity Care Plan SDA with no subsequent Pregnancy Outcome entry.
  3. If there is an LMP date recorded in the last year in the Pregnancy Dates SDA (not Medical History) which is NOT followed by a Pregnancy Outcome entry.

Note - Pregnancy Outcome should be recorded in the Outcome SDA so that it is recognised by the Drug check facility. This can be added in the Maternity Management Plan in Maternity Care.
