Discharge Notification

When a patient is discharged from a hospital, the discharge notification can be sent via the WCCG. These can only be processed by you checking your messages.

Note – It is good practice to check for messages in WCCG daily. Messages are sent to the practice account so any member of staff that has WCCG rights can check and process all messages.

Discharge Notification can be written to the patient record via the WCCG. To access the discharges and write back to the patient record:

  1. From Consultation Manager , with or without a patient selected, select Summary - WCCG.
  2. If you select a patient within Consultation Manager, Discharge Notifications for that patient display, if you do not select a patient within Consultation Manager and there are Discharge Notifications, a link displays at the top of your WCCG Home screen simply select the link.
  3. Select Import to write back to the patient’s record, a 'The Discharge has been successfully imported into Vision' message displays.
  4. Select OK.
  5. The Discharge Notification files to the patient’s record as an Attachment.
Note - Discharge Notifications can autofile from Mail Manager, from Mail Manager Options - Autofiling, select this message type or you can forward them for processing in Docman using the attachment forward option. See Mail Manager on-screen help for further information.
