Alcohol Volume Calculator

The Alcohol Volume calculator is used to find out how many units there are in a single drink or in a number of drinks.

To access the calculator:

1. From Consultation Manager, select a patient and click on the Vision+ icon on the floating toolbar and select Calculators.

2. Select Lifestyle and choose Alcohol Volume.

3. Select either the Wine/Spirits/Alcopops or the Beer/Lager/Cider tab.

4. You can now choose the percentage of alcohol by volume (ABV) eg 9% and the amount consumed.

5. The Read code, event date and score are automatically displayed at the base of the screen. Click OK to record the data or OK and Attach to also record the questionnaire.
6. The score is recorded as part of the Alcohol Structured Data Area (SDA) and is shown in the Units box.
