Contraceptive Services – Patients with coils

Display the Contraceptive Services – Add screen.

If you are checking a coil – In Service READ term, select, for example, 6154. IUD checked – no problems or 615F. Coil check. No need to enter a date in DateIUCD Fitted if you are checking a patient who had a coil fitting previously. .

If you are fitting a coil: In Service READ term, select, for example, 6151. Coil fitted. Enter a date in Date IUCD Fitted.

If you are removing a coil and the patient is going back on an oral contraceptive – You may prefer to do two Contraception – Add entries, the first selecting 6152. IUD removed. Make a second Contraception – Add, selecting an oral contraceptive such as 6141. Oral Contraception started. Record a recall.

If you are recording contraceptive services given to the patient outside of your practice - Uncheck the In Practice box. In Service READ term, select one of the 613.. Contraception from another agency or lower level 613.. terms.
