Electronic Repeat Dispensing
EPS R2 allows you to generate prescriptions for repeat dispensing. Unlike conventional paper-based repeat dispensing, electronic repeat dispensing is possible from a single electronic prescription message, with prescribers able to apply an advanced electronic signature to, and therefore authorise a specific number of issues.
At the start of a repeat dispensing cycle, the patient is given a prescription token. This can then be taken to any ETP 2 enabled pharmacy in order to obtain the first and subsequent issues of their medication.
Note - If a patient has nominated a pharmacy and they wish to change it part way through a repeat dispensing cycle, all repeatable prescription issues that have not been downloaded are transferred to the new nominated pharmacy.
