The following changes were made to ECS in the Vision DLM480 release:

  • Consent Status - Patients who do not have a Permanent registration status, and are therefore not eligible for ECS, now have grey traffic lights displayed within the Emergency Care Summary Management screen. See Summary and Consent Status.

  • ECS Consent - The ECS consent status for patients that transfer out and then re-register at your practice now automatically reverts to 'implied consent'. As you will be aware, we recently reported a potential issue with the Emergency Care Summary (ECS) consent status for patients that have been deducted then subsequently re-registered at the practice. When a patient is transferred out, the consent status for ECS is set to "Refused", and should a patient be re-registered, the consent status remains set to "Refused" and must be changed manually. As practices may not have been aware of this, some patients may have an ECS consent status of "Refused", which was not intended. In response to this, we have written a utility which reverses the consent status for patients who have been erroneously set to ECS Refused. The ECS Consent Utility is included in DLM 480, and it is recommended that you run this utility after receiving this update, even if you have previously run the utility. For details on running the ECS Consent Utility please refer to the ECS Consent Utility Guide.
